Abilities Possibilities Expo Set for February 14 in Sarasota, Florida

The Stroke Association of Florida will host its first Abilities Possibilities Expo in Sarasota, Florida

SARASOTA, FL, January 29, 2012 /United States PR News/ -- The Stroke Association of Florida will host an Abilities Possibilities Expo on Tuesday, February 14, from 1 to 4:30 p.m., at the Gulfcoast Event & Conference Center, 4740 Cattlemen Road in Sarasota.

The free event is a community resource day that will inspire people with disabilities, their families, caregivers and healthcare professionals to explore goods and services to improve daily life and increase independence. Free health screenings (hearing, vision, blood pressure, total cholesterol and glucose) will also be provided.

"We are delighted to bring this event to the Sarasota-Manatee area," said Holly Dykema, Program Director for Stroke Association of Florida. "Similar events are held in other cities around the country and are a great service to the disabled community."

The expo will feature solutions for people with all types of disabilities, not just stroke. This is a great opportunity for patients/survivors and caregivers to look into solutions they may not have considered and for healthcare professionals to meet organizations that can benefit them and their clients.

The event flyer and list of exhibitors can be found on the Stroke Association of Florida website at www.strokefl.org; click on "Flyer." Registration for the event is not necessary. For a free entry into the Grand Prize drawing of a $500 gift card, go to www.strokefl.org and click on "Register." Additional raffle tickets will be available for sale at the event and door prizes will be awarded every half hour.

The Stroke Association of Florida is a non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce the incidence and impact of stroke by educating the community about prevention, risks, signs and symptoms, and by providing support and resources for stroke survivors and their caregivers.
