Attorney George Martin Elected to Chairman of West Vincent Planning Commission

    PHILADELPHIA, PA, January 26, 2012 /United States PR News/ -- Martin Banks founding partner, George Martin was elected to Chairman of the West Vincent Township Planning Commission in Chester County, PA. West Vincent is served by a seven-member Planning Commission, charged with overseeing the Township's orderly and sensitive growth. George will serve a four year terms of office. The group meets once a month during which subdivision plans are reviewed and general business is conducted.

George Martin is the founding partner of Martin Banks and practices exclusively in the area of workers' compensation. Mr. Martin is active in the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, where he served on the Board of Governors for nine years. A past President of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the first workers' compensation attorney to serve in the position, he is a life member of their Board of Governors. He was also the first chair of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association Workers' Compensation Section.

In addition to his successful law career, he also founded the George and Miriam Martin Foundation (www.themartinfoundation.org) in 1996 to protect our environment. The foundation has given more than $2 million to charitable organizations working to protect rivers and watersheds. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the French & Pickering Conservation Trust, the largest land conservation organization in Chester County and a Vice President of the Board of Trustees for Earthjustice, the world's largest nonprofit environmental law firm.
