Trios Studio, a custom design jewelry store in SW Portland, OR, will be hosting a small exhibit featuring pearls from around the world, along with information on the history of pearls and pearl fashion.
LAKE OSWEGO, OR, January 28, 2012 /United States PR News/ -- Trios Studio is featuring its "Pearls of the World"exhibit and sale from March 17th-31st, with an Open House kick-off party Saturday, March 17th, 12-5pm. This exhibit will highlight key moments in pearl history, from the Renaissance to today's "Power Pearls" and the Fair Trade Gemstone movement. "We have designed a unique collection of styles that pays homage to iconic pearl fashion, while giving today's woman the most exciting pearl creations available."ays co-owner Deborah Spencer.
But don't expect cliche . "These are definitely not just your grandmother' s pearls," says Mary Wong, co-owner. "The world of pearls has expanded so much; there are new types, rainbows of color, and choices in shape that inspire our designs. We often combine pearls with natural gemstone beads and gold and silver elements to create impact and versatility."
Pearls show up as early as 3000 BC in early Asian civilizations, and later made a big impact in Renaissance Europe, where nobility and royalty enjoyed their timeless sheen. Many centuries later, trendsetters like Coco Chanel and Grace Kelly popularized the look in America. The exhibit and sale at Trios Studio will feature many examples of pearl fashion and information.
