US Saber Cadet Team wins Gold in London
Three California fencers and one from Alabama bring home gold from International Fencing Tournament in Europe
LOS ANGELES, CA, February 03, 2012 /United States PR News/ -- Sunday, January 29, 2012, the national anthem was played for USA team who won gold at the Cadet Saber World Cup in London, Great Britain. There were 18 international teams registered in this event, but the US team defeated in direct eliminations a very strong team, Ukraine, 45-29, then the highest ranked team of the tournament, Italy, 45-43, and in the final bout, Germany, thus far an undefeated team in the European Circuit, by 45-42. United States team members Michael Costin and Alex Rey Palabrica from Culver City , CA, Issac Buchwald from Palo Alto, CA, and Alistair Delchamps from Birmingham, AL, had an exciting tournament and won their first international gold medal.
