Cambridge Who's Who Names Lynne Harris Professional of the Year in Education
Ms. Harris has plans to offer a 24-hour daycare service to companies and their employees
RED DEER, ALBERTA, CANADA, February 2, 2012 /United States PR News/ -- Lynne Harris, Owner of First Steps & Beyond Inc., has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Education. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
With 24 years of experience, Ms. Harris serves as the owner of First Steps & Beyond Inc., a learning center that provides pre-school, pre-kindergarten university, tutoring, ESL and a gifted program. First Steps & Beyond's uniqueness lies in the fact that they teach their 3 and 4-year-olds how to read. Ms. Harris specializes in kindergarten to third grade education and completed the 100 hours of training that qualifies her to teach English as a second language. In her position, she handles the day-to-day operations of the business, oversees all the administrative work, teaches the English as a Second Language program and tutors children. She previously taught in school divisions in Saskatchewan and Alberta, and owned and operated a pre-kindergarten program in Slave Lake, Alberta.
Ms. Harris wanted very much to be a teacher for as long as she can remember. She was also dissatisfied with the bureaucracy in Canadian schools, and their inability to meet student needs, so she decided to start her own business, which would provide high quality and competent supplemental education instruction to the families of Red Deer and Central Alberta. She attributes her success to her love and passion for teaching and working with children.
A graduate of the University of Regina, Ms. Harris holds a Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education, Reading, Language Arts and Music. In 2011, she was recognized by the Alberta Government Ministry of Child and Youth Services for providing further opportunities for childrens' learning. Looking forward, she plans to expand her business. Part of her marketing plan is to partner with area companies to offer 24-hour daycare along with a nanny placement program for their employees.
